Our Hiring Process:

1. Applicant screening:To ensure we are hiring trustworthy, credible staff, we run an extensive screening process including a phone screen interview, a Zoom interview and a face-to-face interview. Once the interviewing has been completed we follow with reference checks and a complete background check.
2. Trial run: All sitters are hired on a trial basis until we have followed up with enough clients to ensure that they are an excellent fit for East Paws Pet Services. The trial run includes meeting the clients and their pet(s) and shadowing the owner or an experienced East Paws sitter.
3. You’re Hired: Sitters contracted by East Paws Pet Services promise to abide by and sign our Code of Ethics. All team members must complete a Pet First Aid and CPR course. We use FetchFind, an industry leader in training pet sitters/dog walkers. All team members have access to FetchFind and upon completion of the various courses will assume greater responsibility.

Positions Available:

Dog Walkers: Generally walks are Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm. We offer 30-minute walks. Sometimes the client is home and sometimes not. In addition to dog-skills, people-skills are needed.

Pet Sitters: Generally pet sits are weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings with multiple visits per day. We offer 30-minute and 45-minute visits. The client is not home. You should be comfortable with poop, vomit and cleaning up after cats and dogs. People-skills needed as communication is necessary.

Cat Sitters: Generally cat visits are weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings and usually one visit per day, but can be two visits. We offer 30-minute visits. You should be comfortable with vomit, hairballs and cleaning litter boxes. People-skills are needed as communication is necessary.
